(Ann Arbor, MI) -Concordia Volleyball is pleased to announce the signing of Alyssa Kainz from Wyandotte High School. Alyssa will rejoin former Wyandotte HS teammate Ashley Maynard on the Cardinals' squad starting in the fall of 2012. In Alyssa's senior year, she recorded 145 kills, 49 blocks, 41 assists and had an 87% serving percentage. As a team Wyandotte earned one League Title as well as a News Herald victory. Cardinals' Head Coach Karen Graves stated that "Alyssa is going to be filling a big role for us next year. Although she is used to playing Right Side (RS), we are going to challenge her to play other positions." Coach Graves went on to say "we have very high expectations for Alyssa next year. There are a number of positions next year that we are looking for a new player to step up and take over. Alyssa has the opportunity to take over the right side as this is her comfort spot, but we want to challenge her and maybe have her work on the left side as well. The great thing about Alyssa is that I know she will be willing and ready to take on the challenge and do whatever she needs to do to help the team. It's having players who are willing to take on challenges with a positive attitude like Alyssa that will be vital to a success of our program. We look forward to Alyssa joining us in the gym for the 2012 season."
