Women's lacrosse blanks Comets 21-0 at Cardinal Stadium

(ANN ARBOR, Mich. ) – The women's lacrosse extended their win streak to three games with a dominant 21-0 win over Olivet College. The Cardinals recorded a season high 47 shots with 10 different Cardinals recording a goal.

Cassandra Allard (FR/Oak Creek, WI) (FR/Oak Creek, WI) led the Cardinals with a complete game recording 4 goals, 4 assists, and 6 draw controls. Abbey Turner (JR/Grand Ledge, MI) and Madalyn Fields (FR/Waterford, MI) each recorded a hat-trick for the Cardinals as they also led the team with 5 ground balls and 7 draw controls respectively.

The Cardinals took advantage of the Comets being down three players and quickly scored 3 goals in the first 4 minutes. Greyson Papp (SO/South Bend, IN), Taylor Nesbitt (FR/Chicago, IL), and Kayla Owsley (SR/Dexter, MI) were aggressive for the Cardinals early and set the tone. Allard recorded two of her assists on the first three goals of the game.

Eight different Cardinals scored in the first half with Tuner recorded two of the goals as they led 9-0 after 30 minutes of play.

The Cardinals remained aggressive in the early parts of the second half with Madalyn Fields recording her second goal within a minute. The Cardinals recorded 27 ground balls and 19 draw controls compared to 15 and 1 for the Comets.

The Cardinals will have a quick turn-around as they host Heidelberg tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.
