(Burton, MI) - The Cardinal Football Reserve Team looked to improve to 2-0 as they took on the University of Michigan-Flint Club Team this past Sunday.
The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they defeated the Kodiaks by a score of 40-0. Quarterback Seth Suida (FR/Livonia, MI) led the Cardinals to four touchdowns in the first quarter. Suida connected with Shawn Knox (FR/North Shores, MI) for a 40 yard TD pass, Matt Hannon (FR/Anaheim, CA) for a 30 yard TD, and Rod Lewis for a 25 yard score. Andreel Longs also hit paydirt with a 15 yard touchdown run.
Tyler Fehler (SO/Fruitport, MI) took over at quarterback in the 2nd quarter and continued the scoring for Concordia. Fehler took it the house himself on a 55 yard TD run and also connected with Knox for his second touchdown reception of the day. Matt Hannon completed the scoring with a fumble recovery in the end zone for one score and a 47 yard punt return for another.
Concordia's defense was solid throughout the game, limiting Flint to a handful of first downs while pitching the shutout.
The Cardinal reserves are back in action on October 19 when they travel to Adrian College for a 2 pm matchup.
