Baseball falls to UNOH in close WHAC Tournament game

(Grand Rapids, MI) Concordia Baseball was in action on Friday evening as they matched up with #! Seed UNOH in the WHAC Tournament. Despite a strong fight, the Cardinals fell in the game by a final score of 3-1.

Logan Morris was on the mound for the Cardinals in their lone game of the day. The senior went five innings allowing just three earned runs while striking out five. Dylan Kints came on in relief for the final four innings and did not allow a run while only giving up one hit to give the Cardinal offense a chance.

The Racers struck first in the top of the second inning with an RBI single from Nolan Hull to put them up 1-0. In the bottom of the third, Harrison Ryan led off the inning after being hit by a pinch. He was then pinch run for by Clayton McKinstry. Jake Kuhlman was able to single to move the runner, and a wild pitch allowed McKinstry to score what would be CUAA's lone run of the game. The Racers would break the tie with two RBI singles in the fifth inning to make the score 3-1. Despite multiple scoring chances for the Cardinals, the Racers limited the bats and were able to keep the score in their favor to move them to the championship game.

The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow at Cornerstone University against Indiana Tech with a trip to the championship game against UNOH and an automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round on the line! The game will begin at 12pm Eastern in Grand Rapids.
