(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Lacrosse teams will play in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Semifinal game on Thursday for the third straight season after downing Taylor 15-9 at Ferry Field.
The Cardinals had a strong outing across the board as Spencer Guppy tallied a season-high six goals against the Trojans. Ross Preston added five assists in the game and Joseph Loria recorded nine saves in goal.

About the Crusaders
The Madonna Crusaders earned a share of the WHAC Regular Season title following a 13-4 overall record and 6-1 WHAC record. This was Madonna's second WHAC Regular Season title, having won their first in 2018. Carlos Matta is in his fourth season as the Head Coach and has a 34-26 record in his time.
First-Team All-WHAC attacker Benjamin Reidy leads the Crusader offense with 55 goals on the season, while Zachary Lane has accumulated a team-leading 43 assists. Carter Borsos, Nick Bryden, and Shane Alexander round out the top scorers with 42, 33, and 28 goals respectively.
The Madonna defense features three WHAC First-Teamers in Danny Smith, Braeden McCullough, and WHAC Defensive Player of the Year DeMario Williams. Blazej Cimochowski is their faceoff specialist as he has won 53.5% of his attempts. Aiden Haver has started every game in net for the Crusaders, and has stopped 55.5% of the shots he has faced while allowing just 10.0 goals per game.
About the Cardinals
Concordia took third place in the conference with a 5-2 WHAC record and 9-5 record overall. They are currently ranked 7th in the NAIA. Ty McGuire is now in his seventh season at Concordia and has a 54-37 record overall.
The Cardinals feature a well-balanced attack, as six players have over 30 points on the season. Cooper Regimbal, who became the first Cardinal to score 50 goals in a single season in the game against Taylor, leads the bunch with 50 goals and 64 points. Travis Wright is just behind him with 45 goals on the season, followed by Andrew Simmons (29), Spencer Guppy (29), Ryan Davis (19), and Ross Preston (17), who also leads the team with 19 assists.
Mason Blow and Josh Dues lead the team with 15 and 14 caused turnovers respectively. Gavin Scally has been the faceoff specialist for the Cards, winning 51.4% of his attempts and leading the team with 140 ground balls. Nick Bradford is second on the team with 32 GBs as a short-stick defensive midfielder. Joseph Loria has been between the pipes for the Cardinals, stopping 61.4% of the shots he faced and allowing 10.73 goals per game.

Madonna came away last week with the close 15-14 win over Concordia with MU scoring the final two goals in the final three minutes of play, including the game-winner with 25 seconds remaining.
A trio of Cardinals recorded a hat trick with Travis Wright, Ryan Davis, and Spencer Guppy each having three goals. Four Cardinals tallied two assists as Andrew Simmons, Travis Wright, Ross Preston, and Spencer Guppy each assisting on two goals. Joseph Loria saved 15 saves throughout the game.
Madonna scoring opportunities came from the stick of Zachary Lane with four goals and Nick Bryden and Carter Borsos with three goals each. Benjamin Reidy was the top passer for the Crusaders with four assists while Zachary Lane was second with two. Aiden Haver saved 17 of the 31 shots he faced.
