Women's Hockey blanked at #2 Adrian

(Adrian, MI) Concordia Women's Hockey took to the road Saturday afternoon for a showdown with #2 Adrian. The Bulldogs lived up to their billing, coming away with a 9-0 victory to come away with the series sweep.

 

Adrian scored their first goal just after two minutes of play, by way of Genessie Williams, who would score a hat trick in the first 14 minutes of the game. Ashlynn Stitt scored a pair of power play goals in the first period and Chloe Gregory contributed as well. Eva Kingston started in between the pipes for Concordia and played just under the first 15 minutes, stopping 15 shots and allowing 5 goals. Rose Lennon replaced her for the final 45 minutes, recording 27 saves while allowing 4 goals.

 

The Cardinals slowed down the Bulldog attack in the second, allowing just one goal, which came on a power play. The Cards killed 3 of Adrian's 6 power play chances throughout the game. Concordia had 6 power play chances on the day, but were unable to convert any of them. Adrian tacked on two more goals in the third period to make it 9-0 in the end.

 

Next up for the Cardinals is another top-10 matchup, when they travel to #7 Indiana Tech after the new year on Friday, January 10th. Puck drop is set for 4:00 PM in Fort Wayne.
