(Greenville, SC) Concordia University reinstated membership into the National Christian College Athletic Association prior to the 2017 academic year. As a membership benefit, student-athletes are nominated for their performances on a weekly basis. On Monday afternoon, the NCCAA named O'Hara the Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the team's 28-7 win over Missouri Baptist.
O'Hara anchored the Cardinal defense on Saturday, leading the team with 15 total tackles on the day. O'Hara also came up big in the first quarter with a blocked field goal against the Spartans. The senior linebacker made his presence known in the Spartan backfield as he recorded 2.5 tackles for loss along with a quarterback hurry throughout the Cardinal victory.
This is the second time O'Hara has been recognized and is the third time a Cardinal has received an honor from the NCCAA in 2018 after Ryan Fish (SO/Allen Park, MI) and Nick Edney (SO/Garden City, MI) were awarded earlier this season.
The Cardinals will travel to Marian University this Saturday, October 20th to face the #2 ranked Knights. Kickoff is set for 1:05 pm at St. Vincent Field.
