Conner named MSFA Offensive Player of the Week

The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League announced the weekly awards Monday afternoon and Joe Conner (JR/Flat Rock, MI) has been named the offensive player of the week. The junior standout rushed for a record breaking 279 yards in the team's 51-7 victory (Game Recap) over Trinity International. The previous high for Conner was 248 yards set on October 22nd, 2016 against Taylor University.

The Cardinals efficient offensive attack exploded for a program best 728 total yards with 502 coming on the ground. Conner's performance paced the way and was highlighted by three rushing touchdowns as well. Conner's third touchdown came on an 88 yard sprint up the middle making it the longest rushing touchdown in program history. Conner averaged 11.2 rushing yards per carry which was also a personal and program best.

This is the fourth time in Conner's career that he has received MSFA Offensive Player of the Week honors and the first Cardinal to be recognized this season.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, September 15th when they host Olivet Nazarene University at 1pm.
