Ryan Fish named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

NCCAA RELEASE

(Greenville, SC) Concordia University reinstated membership into the National Christian College Athletic Association prior to the 2017 academic year. As a membership benefit, student-athletes are nominated for their performances on a weekly basis. On Monday afternoon, the NCCAA named Fish the Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the team's 51-7 win over Trinity International.

Fish led the defensive unit with 2 interceptions totaling 8 yards of return. The sophomore also recorded 6 assisted tackles to lead the team. The Cardinals defense has been effective through two games this season. The Cardinals lead the NAIA in rush defense with 9.5 yards allowed per game and have recorded 3 interceptions.

This is the first time Fish has been recognized and is the first Cardinal to receive an honor from the NCCAA this season.

The Cardinals will host Olivet Nazarene this Saturday, September 15th at Cardinal Stadium with kickoff set for 1pm.
