(Ann Arbor, Mich.) The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon and Blaine Milheim (SR/Eaton Rapids, MI) was named the WHAC Player of the Week. Milheim's honor comes after a busy week where the Cardinals played eight games. The Cardinals started the week in Florida playing six games as part of their spring trip. The Cardinals concluded the week with their first two WHAC series of the season. The Cardinals finished their spring trip with a 5-3 mark including a sweep over Cleary and a split against UM Dearborn.

Milheim's productive week was highlighted by a game tying home run against UM Dearborn. With the Cardinals trailing 4-3 in the seventh inning, Milheim launched a solo home run to leadoff the inning. The game tying home run would swing the momentum as the Cardinals would go on to win the game 11-6.
Milheim leads the Cardinals in several statistical categories including; hits (40), doubles (8), home runs (2), RBIs (27), slugging percentage (.767), on base percentage (.643), and batting average (.548).
The WHAC has honored Milheim three times in his career with the WHAC Player of the Week accolades. This is the first time this season, but is the second Cardinal to be recognized this season. Jimmy McKane (JR/Saint Johns, MI) won the WHAC Pitcher of the Week honors last week.
The Cardinals will face NCAA DI Eastern Michigan University on Wednesday, March 27th in a non-conference matchup. The Cardinals will resume WHAC play on Saturday, March 30th as they host Madonna in a double header.
