(Ann Arbor, Mich.) The Concordia baseball program is excited to announce the addition of Curt Townsend to the 2019-20 recruiting class. Townsend will join the Cardinals from Lexington, Mich. where he attended Croswell-Lexington High School.
Curt played high school ball under direction of Brett Vaughn at Croswell-Lexington and also played travel ball for East Coast Michigan. The three sport athlete (football, basketball, and baseball) excelled in each and earned multiple post-season recognitions. After recording a .458 BA, 44 hits, 16 stolen bases, 11 RBI's, and a .531 OBP, Townsend was named to the Sanilac County First Team and Blue Water Area Conference First Team. He has also been named to the BWAC All-Academic Team for all three sports and is a member of the National Honor Society.
"You are getting a hard working dedicated athlete" said Townsend's head coach Brett Vaughn. "I have seen very few student athletes' work as hard as Curt. I cannot wait to see what he can do at the next level."
Curt is the son of Steve and Jodi Townsend and has two siblings; Calli and Jake. He plans to study Sport and Entertainment Business while attending Concordia.
"We are so proud of Curt for all his hard work and dedication to the game he loves" said Curt's mom Jodi Townsend. "We look forward to seeing him play at the next level and be a part of the Diamond Card Family"
