(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia Athletics would like to honor the Seniors of the Class of 2020 on the Men's and Women's golf team as well as their team's Champion of Character award recipient. This year's Seniors include Alex Homann (SR/South Bend, IN) and Shelbea James (SR/Dexter, MI) for the women and Perry Melcher (SR/Stevensville, MI) for the men.
Alex Homann has attended Concordia for the past four years. She hails from South Bend, Indiana, and is a Secondary Education major with an emphasis on Mathematics. Alex has also been a part of the indoor and outdoor track and field team during all four years as well. Alex says that the team's best quality is their ability to have fun in every situation. Her favorite memory was their team dinner at Whistling Straits. Alex states that her time at Concordia has had a positive impact on her life.
Shelbea James has attended Concordia for the past four years. She hails from Dexter, Michigan, and is an Exercise Science major. Shelbea has also been a part of the women's basketball team during all four years as well. Shelbea says that the team's best quality is their constant encouragement of one another. Her favorite memory was shooting her lowest career score at the WHAC Championship her Junior year. Shebea states that she is extremely grateful for her time at Concordia.
Perry Melcher has attended Concordia for the past two years. He hails from Stevenson, Michigan, and is a General Business Administration major. Perry says that the team's best quality is the brotherhood bond that they have with each other. His favorite memory was playing hotel mini golf with the boys on their road trips. Perry states that his time at Concordia has been a blessing.
Each year, the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference awards each team with a Champion of Character recipient. This year's award winner for the Women's Golf team is Hannah Spurlock (JR/Monroe, MI). Hannah is a Junior from Monroe, Michigan, and is majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. This year's award winner for the Men's Golf team is Joshua Line (FR/Bloomfield Hills, MI). Joshua is a Freshman from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and is majoring in Sport and Entertainment Business.
