(ADRIAN, Mich.) After winning back-to-back competition, the Concordia cheer team looked to make it three straight at the Saints Spectacular on Sunday (Feb. 11). The Cardinals were unable to claim the three-peat but still came away in second place with a total score of 70.68.
Concordia finished with a sub score of 73.18 before a deduction of 2.50 brought them to a 70.68. Siena Heights finished in third with a total score of 68.17 followed by Adrian College (55.13) and UM-Dearborn (47.76).
The Cardinals will take the second place finish and use it as a learning tool as they shift their focus to the WHAC Championship. "We have to work on our inconsistencies in technique and execution" said head coach Kate Edge. "That will be our focus heading into the WHAC Championship."
Concordia will return to Adrian, Mich. on Friday, February 15th as Siena Heights is set to host the WHAC Championships. The Cardinals will look to avenge their second place finish in the WHAC Tournament from the year before where Lourdes edged them out for the title.
