(Ann Arbor, Mich.) After winning the Concordia Invitational Tournament last year in Wisconsin, the Concordia cheer team looked to defend their title on their home floor. The Cardinals were able to do just that as they claimed their second consecutive CIT title with a final score of 81.08.
In the four team competition, the Cardinals were able to edge out second place Concordia-Chicago. CUAA came away with a score of 81.08 while CUC finished with a total score of 76.23. Concordia-Nebraska finished in third with a score of 53.25 while Concordia-Wisconsin came in fourth with a total score of 47.3. The Cardinals were able to limit their mistakes as they only had 1.75 points deducted en route to their second CIT championship.
"We just love everything about CIT"' said head coach Kate Edge. "The competitiveness, the sportsmanship, and getting the chance to highlight cheer and dance and their role within the tournament. Winning the cheer championship two years in a row is a point of pride for our all of our athletes."
