The men's cross country team took to their home course on Saturday morning to host the Cardinal Old School Invite. The 5k course ran along the perimeter of campus nestled along the huron river. The course also featured bales of hay serving as obstacles for the runner. Geoffrey Wallace paced the Cardinals with a time of 18:48 which was good enough for 7th place overall. The Cardinals second overall as a team.
Wallace displayed one his best performances to date as a Cardinals. Wallace set the tone for the rest of the team as they all took the next four spots. Michael Brannan finished 8th at 19:13 with Adam Dimaggio (19:17), Noah Starkey (19:21) and Avery Sanchez (19:32) all within a few seconds of each other.Theodore Eising rounded out the Cardinals scoring for the Cardinals with a time of 19:39.
Lourdes took first place over with a score of 30. The Cardinals finished with 45 points which was just head of Cleary who accumulated 49 points.
The Cardinals will take a week to resume training before traveling to Taylor University for their last meet on October 24th at 12:00pm.
