Men's Soccer picks up 2-1 victory over Defiance

(Defiance, OH) - Concordia men's soccer traveled to Defiance College on Wednesday afternoon for a WHAC matchup.  The Cardinals earned their first WHAC win of the year with a 2-1 victory. 

 

Dario Cela played a complete game in net with two saves.  The Cardinals went on offense early with three corner kicks in the first four minutes and a header from Bryce Schaner just high of the net.  CUAA scored first in the 16thminute with an unassisted goal by Jan Lloveras Freix.  Concordia led 1-0 at halftime.   

 

During the second half, Defiance evened the game with a goal in the 60thminute of the game.  The Cardinals put forth a heavy offensive attack with a 20-2 shot advantage over the Yellow Jackets in the half.  Bryce Schaner fired four shots on goal with his fourth finding the back of the net in the 84thminute with Clemens Gehlich assisting.  CUAA secured a 2-1 victory as time expired. 

 

Concordia will host Rochester Christian this Saturday, October 12th, at 2pm in Ferry Field at Cardinal Stadium.
