Men's Golf wraps season up at the WHAC Championships

(Augusta, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf team concluded their season at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships where they would end the season in 10th place with a final score of 964 with rounds of 319-313-332. The Cardinals team total score is the fourth-lowest all-time score. The second round score of 313 is tied for the seventh-lowest mark in program history. 

 

The event featured three rounds of play with all teams golfing 36 holes on Monday followed by another 18 on Tuesday. 

 


CUAA Scores

Andrew Sweitzer led the team with a score of 237 after rounds of 78-78-79 throughout the three rounds as he finished in 33rd place. Sweitzer's round is the seventh-lowest score in program history. Gibson Wilke was right behind Sweitzer with a total score of 237 after scoring 80-77-80 in the tournament. 

 

Zak Schroeder was next up for the team, scoring 80-79-88 for a total score of 247. Jack Burnett and Jack Kallsen were the final two golfers for the team with a 253 and 257 respectively. Burnett's rounds were 89-79-85 while Kallsen's rounds were 81-85-91. 

 


Tournament Scores

Liam McEvoy from Lawrence Tech took home the lowest individual score for the tournament with a score of 218 after rounds of 71-75-72. 

 

Lawrence Tech also took home the lowest team score with a 889 with rounds of 292-298-299. They took home their second straight WHAC Championship. 

 


Champions of Character

Gibson Wilke was recognized as the team's WHAC Champion of Character. The grad student was honored for his commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 


All-Academic Team

The WHAC announced their All-Academic teams, which involve being a sophomore in Academic standing and having a cumulative GPA of 3.25. The five Cardinals honored were Jack Burnett, Jack Kallsen, Zakary Schroeder, Andrew Sweitzer, and Gibson Wilke
