(Winona Lake, Ind.)After securing their first win of the fall season against Olivet College, the women's tennis team looked to keep their momentum going. The Cardinals traveled to Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. For an afternoon matinee against the Lancers. Grace brought an experienced and talented combination to the match with a 9-1 record overall so far this fall. The Lancers defeated the Cardinals 7-0.
Charity Felton (SR/Fort Wayne, IN) (6-3,6-4) and Elle Fritcha (FR/Fort Wayne, IN) (6-2, 6-2) picked up a couple games at 1 and 2 singles respectively but not enough to earn a point for the Cardinals. Kayla Verhelle (SR) hung tough in the first set to take three games but eventually lost (6-3, 6-0)
The Cardinals will look to bounce back with a match against Cornerstone. Details fort the match are still being finalized and will be available soon.
