Men's Bowling finishes first in qualifying at the Dirty Bird Classic

(Ann Arbor, MI) - On Saturday, the Concordia Cardinals Men's Bowling team kicked off their season at the second annual Dirty Bird Classic at the Jax 60 in Jackson, Michigan. The event featured 3 team games and 10 baker games to determine bracket play. The bracket then would see the top two teams advance on a bye to the semifinal. 

 

The Cardinals qualified first after leading by 160 pins and earned first-place points in the USBC power rankings. CUAA would fall to Trine in the semifinal 2-1 with scores of 195-160, 224-181, and 194-191.

 

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Connor Rogus took home the top individual spot at the tournament after averaging 222.6 pins per game with a total score of 668. Nicholas Schaberg, making his Cardinal debut, placed 20th with a score of 553. 

 

Conner Lackey, who bowled two games, recorded a score of 381. Hunter Fletcher and Kenji London also bowled a pair of games and scored 328 and 317 respectively. 

 

Three Cardinals bowled 1 game a piece with Clinton Harris III, David Schaberg, and Kaden Salts scoring 186, 186, and 180 respectively. 


JV RESULTS

The Cardinals JV team finished the qualifying round in fourth place with a total pin score of 3,843.
