Freshman Cameron Hynds
(October 7, 2008 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- The fall baseball season is winding down this week with the annual Red & Black World Series. If the first two days are any indication, the remaining three games are not to be missed. The Black squad, coached by Tyler Maxey (Sr. - Holt, Mich.), broke through with a 5-4 8-inning victory on Monday and that was capped off with an exciting 7-6 win by the Red team on Tuesday.

Senior Shawna Dorton
(October 7, 2008 - Ann Arbor, Mich.) -- The Concordia women's volleyball team showed their heart in more ways than one Tuesday evening at home against the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The players for both teams raised awareness of breast cancer research as they participated in a Dig Pink match, as Concordia wore pink jerseys and Dearborn had pink numbers on their blue jerseys as the squads participated in the national movement. Concordia, in addition to their compassion toward an important cause, showed that a long-losing streak and close-knit match were not too much to overcome as they prevailed in five sets 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 17-15).

Sophomore Abby Lorion
(October 4, 2008 - Grand Rapids, Mich) -- Looking for a chance to pick up their first conference win of the season and move up the standings, the Concordia women's soccer team faced a 2-0 deficit on the road at Aquinas College Monday afternoon. A pair of goals by Abby Lorion (So. - Plymouth, Mich.) allowed the Cards to rally for a 2-2 tie, their third of the season setting a new school record for ties in a year.

Freshmen Yonathan Zeleke
Concordia 1, Rochester 0
(October 6, 2008 - Rochester, Mich) -- After coming ever so close to that elusive win last week with ties against Rochester and Cornerstone, the Concordia men's soccer team (1-4-2) finally broke through with a 1-0 non-conference win over Rochester. The win was the program's first since September of 2004 when they defeated Grace Bible College 4-3 on the road. The victory marks the first win in 64 consecutive games and is a solid reassurance that the program is headed in the right direction.
